At
dinner when we were visiting my lovely sister and her kids a few weeks back,
Addra was enthusiastically pointing her fork at everyone and saying, “Boo!” (Maybe
“Doo!”?) With very little coaxing, we convinced her to try out “Expelliarmus!”
instead. And really, what is cooler than that?
*For those of
you out there who are not familiar with Harry Potter (*cough* Dad *cough*), “Expelliarmus” is a spell used to
disarm an enemy wizard. But you have to wave your wand at the enemy quite
convincingly, as is demonstrated.

ReplyDeleteLittle one has never seen Harry Potter or even heard of it. One of us saw that she was waving her fork around dramatically and saying things emphatically and said "expelliarmus" exactly one time. And then in her adorable tiny airy voice she said "esspel iahmus". Amazing. Just one time and she had it down. Quickly grab the video camera - this video is the second time she's ever said the word. We loved it. Little one- you're amazing! I love you!
That was adorable!!! (And for the record, Dad has seen all the Harry Potter movies... :D )
