Sunday I taught about the millenium at church, specifically how we can model our homes on characteristics of the millenium. There will be peace on earth, swords turned to plows. So in our homes we need to turn our areas of argument into shared strengths and fill our homes with peace. During the M, satan will be bound because of the righteousness of the people. We can erect protections in our houses by keeping negative influences out and having positive influences. Filters on computers, careful screening of music, movies and TV, pictures of religious subjects in each room, regular family scripture study and prayer and family nights. If we do that, the evil one will have minimal power to attack us at home - what a refuge! During the M, Christ will reign in righteousness over the government and the church. In our homes, we as parents can lead our children in love and righteousness. Not in anger or compulsionn but with gentle persuasion, firmness tempered by affection, and with a good example.
So yeah, I've got a lot to work on. Still, I do think that there are good things we can do to improve how our families function by taking a look at what goes on inside our four walls.
That is really beautiful. We had the same lesson--and it was wonderful--but you've shown a different perspective. Thanks!
